Tesseract/Hypercube I

This is my contribution for the 2nd Anual Express Yourself Art Fest !

Opening tonight on the Dreamz&Visionz sims @Inworldz

How I came to this concept you may ask ? When I went to school, many many years ago, we had to learn all the directions in space. Left, right, forward, backward, up and down. We stood in the center of a construction similar to this and trying to feel all the directions :-)

So with that in mind  I came to the Tesseract a four-dimensional shape (hypercube)

In mathematics, a Tesseract is a four-dimensional shape (hypercube) that, when represented in three dimensions, looks, e.g., like a cube inside of a cube with spokes connecting the corners of the two cubes together. The Tesseract functions could be more or less like what in modern science-fiction is called a space warp or a wormhole, a portal from one area of space to another which is possible through the bending of the structure of the space-time continuum.
We only know life in 3-D, our brains don’t understand how to look for anything more. They aren’t trained to see anything other than our world, and it will likely take something from another dimension to make us understand.

If we can’t use the fourth dimension to time travel, and if we can’t even see the fourth dimension, then what’s the point of knowing about it? Understanding these higher dimensions is of importance to mathematicians and physicists because it helps them understand the world.
But for the concept for the Express Yourself Art Fest I had a lot of fun playing with cubes…scripts and textures,
didn’t we love to play with blocks too in our early existence ? :-)

to be continued…
